My creative day

I had an amazing day with a friend this week where we sat for a couple of hours and played with our crystal beads. This kind of event is rare when you are both busy mothers!
I was determined to start using some of the gorgeous beads I've been collecting and not had time to turn into anything. I'm so thrilled that I created 3 necklaces, 2 sets of earrings and a ring that I love.
Only one necklace is for me, it's not pictured here. I was wearing it when I took these photos. It's a gorgeous Amethyst point pendant made by Lunaozi Dreams that I've beaded up with round light and dark purple amethyst beads. I love it now and know that it will be one of my regular jewellery pieces.
Other pieces will be for sale
Goddess necklace with tigers eye, wooden and dyed howlite beads and a gorgeous ceramic goddess

Chakra goddess necklace with black obsidian, clear quartz, garnet, amethyst, carnelian, aventurine, lapis lazuli and a lovely blue tigers eye goddess pendant

Tigers eye and blue stone earrings

Here's some more pics of my creative day.......

The creative mess!
We managed to take over the whole dining room with beads!

Creation in progress
Sometimes I just wish I could use all the beads at once

Crystal wands for inspiration
Made with gorgeous gemstones by my friend, Lunaozi Dreams and Lucy's wands and wonders,
they are lovely to hold or gaze at!

So many beads so little time
I discovered I have 12 of these large storage containers full of beads and maybe 15 small storage boxes of beads! Yikes!

My cards for the day from my Toni Carmine Salerno Universal Wisdom deck
Both cards about creativity and being an artist
Perfect messages for the day, so spot on

Looking forward to the next creative day now......

Weekend bliss

Recently we had a trip to the city gardens
We walked, rode and scootered across the foot bridge over the river
to the gardens

We watched ducks being fed and water dragons lazing in the Autumn sun

We pondered mirrored sculptures

And were amazed at how green and nurturing this little sanctuary is in the middle of the city

Happy Mothers Day

Mothers day was a pile of pancakes with maple syrup and a bbq lunch at a dam with the Hubbies Family

Clear the space!

Ive decided it's now the time for finishing up projects, clearing the old to make way for the new. I have multiple UFOs floating around the house (UnFinished Objects!) and would rather have the space. So starting tonight I finished a reversible dolly matinee jacket Ive been fiddling with for maybe months now? A very simple jacket that just wasn't quite working! Do I give up and give it the flick? Nope I dutifully finished that little jacket. Phew project 1 done. Now what's next?

Crafty week

It's been a crafty week here with lots of little projects on the go at once.
An tie dyed quilt square with an applique of a mother goddess symbol. She has a round earthy belly with a spiral inside, and a bold flower blossoming in her mind. She is my contribution to a quilt being made by a few women over Australia as a Blessingway gift for a pregnant friend. I can't wait to see how the quilt looks finished with all it's pieces, what Ive seen so far looks amazing! I used this goddess symbol template to create my goddess.

Also made a 'welcome earthside' present for new baby Finn.
He is a tiny Waldorf 'pocket' dolly, simple and soft, filled with wool
and made with cotton and flannelette

The perfect buddy for a baby

And another mushroom pincushion house, this time for a friend. I love this one with it's sparkly roof and wooden bead door handle. My favourite so far.

Last of all a pair of denim dolly shorts for a friend, the weather is cooling and dollies need warm clothes too!

What are you making this week?
